Dr, Ansel seems able to relate to the patient as a whole and not just the pain issue. Her choice of trying a bupro patch for Lew a couple of years ago has helped him significantly. She spends time trying to get a feel for what is happening in the patient's life.

Dr. Ansel prescribed a bupro patch for the patient when other pain meds were causing cognition issues and spinal injections were no longer of benefit. Although not solving the pain issue, it is mitigating the condition enough so that there is an acceptable quality of life at least part of the time. She takes the time to explain, even several times, if necessary, to the patient, why the meds should not be increased, etc. -- conscious of trying to help a cognition challenged person maintain dignity.
She is fairly knowledgeable about treatment and conditions. I just wish that there was more options out there for me. She’s nice but she has let me know we’ve pretty much exhausted our options.
