I would recommend Dr. Othersen to other people because she cares about her patients. She takes the time to go over any information she has to share, as well as takes the time to answer any questions I may have.

I was expecting a holistic approach when I chose a Doctor of Osteopathy. However, I did not find a difference between this doctor and any previous doctor from my past experiences. Perhaps it is because of the restraints of the large Franciscan Alliance Group, and requirements to serve so many patients per hour, etc...but even her person to person demeanor did not much reflect "compassionate care" as outlined in the Alliance's mission statement. The rush to order tests and specialist visits is another symptom of doctors' being pressured to bill, bill, bill. So sad. Is there any doctor out there unbeholden to the machine?

I like Dr Othersen. She is thorough and will explain and address your concerns. However, the whole St Francis attitude about certain things is concerning. Calling everyone about lab results without having information at hand is stupid. The nurse should be able to know if the patient has an appointment. She should be able to answer simple questions. Otherwise, Dr. Othersen should be the one calling. Most patients probably have an upcoming appointment, so a reminder results will be talked about then, will remind patients they have an appointment and not miss it. St Francis, do better. Make a patient feel like they are being heard and understood instead of making them feel like they are elderly and can't remember anything or care for themselves.
