He is really a very caring Dr. and he listens to the patient and what they are experiencing unlike so many Dr's. that slap you with a handful of prescriptions and a bandaid. He trys to get to the root of the problem then a course of action. You can trust him unlike many Dr's. this day and time.

Today, Amber (my nurse) was welcoming and friendly. I was even 15-20 minutes early to my appointment for paperwork and I was with a nurse and Dr. Hekman before my scheduled appointment! The renovations are beautiful. I love the use of technology in the exam rooms.
Dr. Hekman spends time finding out how you have been doing since last visit never makes you feel rushed you know he and his staff care which is what a patient needs.

As a new doctor, he took all the time needed to get to know me. I never felt rushed, quite the opposite, he kept asking more questions, listened very carefully, offered solutions. It was a very good dialogue, I was able to ask and tell him all kinds of questions. And his 'bedside' manner was terrific - just the right kind of listening to me, picking up on my "cues", following up with more questions, understanding what I was telling him. He took me seriously, without patronizing me. He gave advise specific to me, not general how-to-stay-healthy information. That was great.
