Overview

Radiation therapy is a cancer treatment that damages cancer cells with pinpoint accuracy and effectiveness, sparing surrounding tissue. Radiation oncologists may use a variety of methods to deliver radiation therapy. Radiation therapy may be used on its own, or in conjunction with surgery, chemotherapy, or other cancer treatments as part of a comprehensive, personalized cancer care plan.
