Overview
Indiana Blood & Marrow Transplantation (IBMT) Program in Indianapolis, is one of only two programs in the state of Indiana offering tertiary care for hematological disorders and blood cancers, specializing in the treatment of leukemia, Hodgkin or Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, multiple myeloma and other malignant blood disorders.
IBMT offers many treatments including bone marrow or stem cell transplants, CAR T-Cell therapies, clinical trials and more. Our nationally recognized experts at IBMT have more than 25 years of experience safely conducting these procedures.
Many patients travel to our Indianapolis facility for the specialized treatment they need. Our care team works with patients and their families or support persons to ensure patients have appropriate lodging, transportation and supportive care throughout their journey. In addition to specialized nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and physicians, our multidisciplinary team includes pharmacists, social workers, case managers, dietitians, spiritual care consultants and patient advocates.
IBMT is committed to clinical excellence and offering the latest treatments, delivered with the most compassionate care. We are proud to be accredited by the Foundation for Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and to have received several awards including Best Outcomes in the Midwest by the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplantation® (2023).

Not everyone has access to a living donor match. Our deceased donor transplant program uses cadaveric bone marrow to replace unhealthy blood-forming cells with healthy ones to treat a range of blood and bone marrow diseases.

Patients receiving blood or bone marrow transplantation sometimes face a long and difficult treatment process. For those who live far away from Franciscan Health, traveling to and from can be a real hardship on families and lead to detrimental outcomes. The Bone Marrow Transplant Patient and Family Assistance fund provides fully-furnished apartment homes for transplantation patients and their families.
