Our Behavioral Health Services & Programs

Adolescent Services

The Adolescent program is tailored to the ages of 12 through 17. Our compassionate and experienced team provides support to those who are struggling with emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric disorders.

Adolescents exhibiting any of the following behaviors may need behavioral health intervention:

  • Expressions of self-harm
  • Severe depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Uncontrollable bursts of rage
  • Extreme hyperactivity and short attention span that disrupt the classroom or home environment
  • Withdrawal from family/friends/school
  • Acting out sexually
  • Change in social behaviors

Franciscan’s behavioral health services for adolescents include:

  • Inpatient care for patients who require immediate intervention and intensive care.
    • 24-hour care
    • 20-bed inpatient unit

Our team works together to observe, assess, stabilize and transition patients into a less restrictive level of care and back into their homes with their families.

The PHP and IOP programs are designed for adolescents who do not need immediate or intensive care services, but still require care to address emotional and behavioral challenges:

  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
    • Monday-Friday
    • 8:15AM-3:15PM
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
    • Monday-Friday
    • 8:15AM-12:15PM

Participants can expect structured programming throughout the day including:

  • Individual and family therapy
  • Psychiatric services
  • Medication management
  • Occupational and recreational therapy
  • Substance use disorder education

Participants are given goals in the form of homework to continue practice and mastery of skills learned throughout the treatment day. Parents are highly encouraged to participate and are given a form to document their child’s evening activities and behaviors to assist with developing age-appropriate, individualized treatment goals.

Adult Substance Use Services

We provide care for adults seeking recovery from substance use involving alcohol or drugs. This service can help individuals achieve and maintain sobriety. Dual programming is offered for those requiring substance use and psychiatric therapy. It is never too late to seek help.

We provide two levels of sobriety treatment:

  • Inpatient hospitalization care: A comprehensive, structured treatment for addictions requiring inpatient alcohol detoxification.
    • 24-hour care
  • Intensive outpatient program (IOP): This is a half-day outpatient program for adults whose substance use requires a less intensive level of treatment. In the afternoon, patients return to the comfort of their homes. At home they can practice the skills learned in treatment and seek additional support by attending outside AA and NA meetings.
    • Monday-Friday
    • 8:45AM-12:15PM
    • Patients participate in the 12-step program where they follow a set of recovery steps to achieve and maintain a level of sobriety, including abstinence.
    • The length of stay for this program is generally 20 sessions, although individual success may vary.

This is an alternative treatment method for adults transitioning services from program inpatient care to outpatient services.

Adult Psych Services

We offer inpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for adults who may be experiencing difficulties within their families, marriage, work or social functioning. Our primary focus is the treatment of the patient, but we welcome family members to be included in the treatment, care and education.

Conditions treated may include:

  • Major depressive disorder
    • General Anxiety Disorder
    • Bipolar disorder
    • Post-traumatic stress disorder
    • Adjustment disorder
    • Anxiety
    • Schizophrenia

Our hospital unit consists of two levels of inpatient treatment and an intensive outpatient program (IOP) as alternative methods of treatment and for those transitioning from inpatient to outpatient services:

  • Intensive Treatment Area (ITA): For individuals out of touch with reality, highly unpredictable or self-destructive.
  • Standard Treatment area (STA): For individuals who can participate in group therapy and treatment sessions.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): For adults requiring structured, monitored treatment, but not inpatient psychiatric services.
    • Monday-Friday
    • 8:45AM-12:15PM

Most people remain in our IOP program for around 20 sessions before moving on to the next phase of their treatment. Individual success is determined by progress of coping skills being used along with medication compliance. IOP patients return home in the afternoon where they can practice skills learned during treatment.

To meet the individual needs of each patient, we provide a variety of treatments including:

  • Individual Psychotherapy
  • Group Psychotherapy
  • Milieu Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Family Sessions
  • Medication management
